We just moved into a new home in Lake Cynthia, in the Town of Miami Lakes. Charlie and I found out the other day that in addition to turtles, fish, and ducks, our new neighbors include a few iguanas. This is a huge one!
Look at Charlie's neck. It is double its normal size. I believe he was just trying to get a good look at the iguana but keeping his distance just in case he had to run inside!

Guess it could be worse. He could be staring at a hungry alligator.
The infamous "giraffe" neck that our pets get when they see something they don't quite understand.
Griselda, he is looking very carefully and I agree, Charlie is ready to back out very quicky if that iguana made a sudden move toward him!
Wow, that is wild country you live in. I don't know if I would be able to take a walk outside!
Geoff, oh my! I hope that scenario never happens. But living on a lake in Florida, I know it is always a possibility. Don't tell that to Charlie, though... ;-)
Pat, you are right. It does look like a "giraffe" neck. I guess Charlie couldn't figure out how that "lizard" was sooo big!
Sharon, yes, he was very alert and didn't take his eyes from the iguana for a moment!
Sandra, yes, it is a bit wild. Not that bad though. Usually there's nothing dangerous in these parts. But an occasional alligator or a pet snake that was let loose by its former owners. ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!
Good pic....our little dog would bark even if it were a hungry alligator. Good thing there are bars...
Oh my ~ Charlie is very curious indeed and hopefully he'll be cautious and keep his distance from that creature!! Yikes!
Rick, I believe Charlie is also happy those bars are there...;-)
Maureen, you are right, Charlie is very curious. Cautious? I don't know about that. But at least he shows some respect for creatures larger than him, like this iguana.
Thank you both for your comments,
Wow that is really a big Iguana. I didn't realize they got that large! Your doggie must not know what to do! :)
Hope all is well in your world!
Hi from April in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Hi April! Nice to see you around... Yes, that iguana was huge!
Everything is fine, thank you. Getting used to the new neighborhood, which is about six blocks from the old one! ;-)
